The VM-200 vortex mixer is a lab size instrument designed to mix difficult to blend materials such as silicones, polymers, epoxies, waxes, pigments and powdered additives. The centrifugal force created by spinning the material in two opposite axes simultaneously produces a high shear blending effect, thus mixing the materials inside the cup and deairating them at the same time.
Designed specifically for lab development of various material, QA testing and research applications. The VM-200 can mix up to 200 grams of material with incredible speed. For larger volumes the StateMix VM-1000 and VM-2500 can respectively mix up to 1000 grams and 2500 grams of material at a time.
The rotation of the main vertical axis forces the materials to the far side of the cup while the cup holder counter rotates simultaneously. This creates a vortex motion within the liquids which facilitates the rapid mixing of the materials. Through this vortex motion,raw materials with very high or low viscosity can be mixed very effectively. Off-the-shelf plastic cups contain the material during mixing.
To operate, simply pour all the raw material components to be mixed into the cup, close the machine lid and press the start button. Both the speed and the duration of mixing is user adjustable. These settings are based on the material viscosity, temperature, types of materials and required dispersion. Most materials are completely mixed from 15 to 30 seconds.
The VM-200 can be used in a variety of labs, such as pharmaceutical, dental, cosmetic and many more locations where hard to blend materials need to be mixed.
